About Carolina

I created this blog when I was immersed in my PhD, researching about the use of PBL in L2/FL. I got very frustrated because I could not find much on the topic and most importantly curated high quality resources. As usual, frustration and the need to solve a problem can lead to creativity, so I made this blog with my findings and treasures could be shared with other teachers interested in the same topic and this is the result.

I have taught Spanish and English as a second language for around 15 years at different levels of competence and range of educational contexts, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Education in Spain, the U.S. and Australia. I have taught in the Master of Education at Flinders University as a lecturer and traveled extensively facilitating professional development for teachers on Project Based Learning. I have spent 4 years researching in my PhD the effect of Project Based Learning in the motivation of students of Spanish as a second language to be published at he end of 2019. I have a B.A. in Languages and Literature from the University of Seville and a MA in Teaching and learning of Spanish as a Foreign language from the University Pablo de Olavide and I have completed all the requirements but for the dissertation for a PhD in Applied Linguistics at Flinders University.

In my classes, I use experiential learning, critical thinking and creativity as my main methodology. I got to Project Based Learning when I was a teacher worried about motivating more my students and trying to prepare them for real life and this journey has engaged me for more than 6 years now, still feeling full of enthusiasm and passion about this methodology.
